BYD Offers Huawei Driver Assist Discount in July Push

BYD the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer offers Huawei’s Qiankun assisted driving system at a discounted price through its July promotion for the off-road Fangchengbao brand. The social media post from the company reveals that the advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) package now costs 12,000 yuan instead of its original price of 32,000 yuan ($1,046 instead of $2,790) during this limited-time offer.

The substantial price reduction serves to enhance the adoption of advanced technology features because BYD needs to compete against local EV manufacturers and Tesla in the market. The Qiankun system from Huawei provides lane-keeping and automated cruise features and other driver-assist capabilities which demonstrates how Chinese automakers use technology to attract customers in their competitive domestic market.

Chinese EV brands use this promotion to provide premium features at competitive prices because external pressures from U.S. and EU tariffs continue to rise. The EV expansion of BYD receives support from Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway while the company focuses on developing smart driving capabilities for domestic and international markets.
